The audio track is present however vlc and mplayer won’t play it out of the box.
I can think of 3 solutions to fix this:
1) Modify your mplayer configuration
2) Use an alternative video player
3) Reencode the audio track
1) mplayer will play the DTS HD Master Audio track if you use the lavf demuxer, i.e.
$ mplayer -demuxer lavf akb.m2ts
However, if you turn the volume up, you’ll notice the audio is distorted.
2) There is a nice all-in-one media center solution called XBMC that plays everything you ever dreamed of.
For a working out-of-the-box zero-configuration experience I recommand you give xbmc a try.
It even plays Bluray ISOs without you having to mount them.
3) Lastly, one can reencode the audio track to, say, variable bitrate mp3 using ffmpeg.
This comes at the price of some audio quality loss but increased compatibility with vlc and mplayer.
This can be achieved with the following command:
$ ffmpeg -i “AKB48 – Hate (Tokyo Dome 1830m).m2ts” -codec:v copy -codec:a mp3 -q:a 0 akb48-hate-v0.m2ts

Fine colors, excellent filming, Namie, Tokyo, all looks perfect, even more wishing to go there..
